JMR - shotcreting

Council's contractor and our work crews have been making good progress with the repairs to the Jamberoo Mountain Road landslip.

The contractor (Ground Stabilisation Systems) is 2 weeks into their 5-week program and so far, remain on schedule.

They've completed installing all 24 of the 6m 24 soil nails underpinning the road and applied 40m2 of shotcrete to the face of the wall.

Our works crews have also been busy with maintenance and betterment works.

This includes cleaning out around 500m of stormwater drains, as well as debris built up on guard rails.

They're also trimming roadside vegetation to improve the line of sight for motorists and have identified and removed any hazardous trees or branches.

Thanks to the local community as well as other regular road users while this work goes on.

A reminder the road is closed between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday for this work to take place. The closure is above The Abbey and below Misty Lane.

The road is open outside of these hours, with one lane closed at the work site.

Heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses and caravans are not permitted on Jamberoo Mountain Road.

Drivers should be aware night works are also being conducted on Macquarie Pass between 28 April and 18 July (8pm to 4am).

Picton Road and Kangaroo Valley are alternate routes during these times.

The repairs have been funded by the Australian and NSW governments under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
