Sweet and soothing jazz melodies will be heard once again at Roughley House when the much-loved Jazz at the Pines event returns this November 21.

Sunday's annual event, which is run by The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville and supported by The Hills Shire Council, will mark the start to the 2021-22 Hills jazz season, which was delayed as a result of the strict restrictions that were put in place to manage the spread of COVID-19.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said she was happy to see restrictions easing, and the return of Jazz at the Pines and other events across the Shire.

"Live music and entertainment has been one of the hardest hit industries during the pandemic," Mayor Byrne said.

"It's great to see this sector bouncing back and residents being able to attend a live show with their family and friends once again. I know myself, I've missed going out and seeing these wonderful shows, which are usually run by small independent companies or community groups.

"I want to thank residents for making vaccination a priority. It's thanks to you, that these restrictions have eased and that we can now enjoy live events again, such as Jazz at the Pines at the beautiful Roughley House," Mayor Byrne added.

Seven-piece traditional jazz band Bridge City will take centre stage on the day, with visitors encouraged to pack a picnic lunch.

Freshly baked cakes, tea and coffee will also be available to purchase.

President of The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville, Thomas Cann encouraged residents to bring their family and friends along to Sunday's event.

"Jazz at the Pines is about great jazz music in a great setting," Mr Cann said.

"You can sit outside in a relaxed environment, unwind and spend a Sunday afternoon with family and friends enjoying good food and beverages, as well as great music. The music is traditional jazz, New Orleans style…music for all ages.

"Under the pines in the historic garden setting is a perfect favourite for the many visitors who come back time and time again. New visitors are of course welcome," Mr Cann added.

Roughley House, which is also known as "The Pines", is one of Dural's most historic buildings in the Shire. It was built in 1856 and has been associated with the Roughley family for more than 150 years. Clive Roughley bequeathed the property to the community before his death in 2002.

Attendees to Jazz at the Pines will need to show proof of vaccination, and will need to sign in with a QR code on the day.

Tickets cost: $45 (family), $22 (adult) and $18 (concession).
