The Victorian Government has announced the name of the second Municipal Monitor for Kingston.
Mr John Watson will join Mr John Tanner AM in working with us through until 31 December 2025.
Mr Watson has considerable experience and expertise in both local and state government, including as a former Executive Director of Local Government Victoria, and his highly regarded.
He has previously served as Monitor at Darebin City Council, as Chair of the Victorian Local Government Grants Commission and is a Director of Northern Health.
Kingston Mayor Cr Georgina Oxley and CEO Peter Bean expressed their ongoing commitment to working closely with both the monitors.
"We have been working well with Mr Tanner since he started in August and look forward to meeting Mr Watson," they said.
"We will continue to do everything we can to assist them in their role as we go about delivering excellent service to the people of Kingston."
