Joint Traffic Operation conducted in Northern Tasmania

Tasmania Police, Transport Inspectors and National Heavy Vehicle Regulators conducted a joint operation on the East Tamar Highway today, focusing on heavy vehicle compliance and vehicle defects.

As a result of the operation:

  • 46 vehicle defects were issued
  • 10 infringement notices were issued for unregistered vehicle
  • 2 people will be proceeding against for unlicensed driving
  • 2 people were arrested for fail to appear warrants.

These joint traffic operations show that both federal and state government are working together, taking road safety seriously and ensuring vehicles are compliant when travelling on our roads.
