Kapooka Army band is coming to Griffith Regional Theatre

After a lengthy absence from our region, The Australian Army Band Kapooka returns to Griffith for a concert performance on Wednesday 21 June 2023.

Residing in Blamey Barracks Kapooka, The Home of the Soldier, the Band's mission is to enhance the image of the Australian Army through community and military engagement. The Band will perform a 60-minute concert at the Griffith Regional Theatre, featuring the talents of their Brass and Sax Quartets, Rock Band, Big Band, and Full Band capabilities.

This show will take place from 11am on Wednesday 21 June, with morning tea from 10am.

Griffith Regional Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza, said "We love having the Morning Melodies shows here at the Theatre, and seeing so many people come together to enjoy morning tea and a show."

"The Australian Army Band Kapooka is one of only seven Australian Army bands, providing musical support to the Army Recruit Training Centre and Riverina community," she said.

"This full-time military band has been serving the Army Recruit Training Centre since 1952. Originally a brass band with 12 members, the unit has grown in reputation and now boasts 22 musicians performing on brass, woodwind and rhythm section instruments."

Ticket price includes Morning Tea and $15 early bird tickets can be purchased until 5pm on Wednesday 7 June, then all tickets are $20 each. Tickets are available from the Box Office or by calling 6962 8444 or visiting www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au
