Bayside's beaches, foreshore areas and public amenities will continue to be kept clean, safe and welcoming under a new five-year services contract.
Council has awarded the contract for our public amenities and foreshore cleaning to Metrowide Facilities Management following a competitive two-stage procurement process.
The contract covers essential services across the municipality, including litter-bin servicing, cleaning of public toilets, showers and barbecues and beach cleansing.
These services help protect public health, improve environmental outcomes and maintain the high standards residents and visitors expect.
They will be delivered under a new model that includes clearer service standards, stronger performance monitoring and greater flexibility to respond to seasonal demand and changing community needs.
The five-year contract is valued at $15.27 million excluding GST, or about $3.05 million each year. It will support reliable, responsive services at some of Bayside's most popular and visible public places, helping ensure they remain enjoyable for the community year-round.
