Keeping up with Youth Advisory Council

The Bass Coast Youth Advisory Council met on Thursday, 25 November to mark the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Campaign.

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members were joined by Bass Coast Councillors, including Mayor Cr Michael Whelan, Deputy Mayor Cr Leticia Laing, Cr Brett Tessari, Cr Les Larke and Cr David Rooks. The Youth Council members enjoyed having an opportunity to learn about the work that they do.

Councillors were also able to hear directly from the local young people about what life has been like in Bass Coast over the last 18 months and any issues they have been facing.

The YAC consists of young people aged 12 to 25 from across Bass Coast. The group meet monthly throughout the year and participate in consultations, provide input to Council and help direct the work of the YES Youth Hub.
