Work will commence this month on the new amenities at Keith Irvine Oval in Jamberoo.
Providing amenities at the Oval will greatly assist the football (soccer), cricket and touch football clubs that use the ground.
The new amenities, which are fully accessible, will provide teams and spectators with change-rooms, toilets, storage and a kiosk.
Council has already installed lights at Keith Irvine to allow them to be used at night for training.
Once the amenities are complete, Council will then upgrade the access road and parking for Keith Irvine.
This will mark the final stage of the $1.44m Jamberoo Sporting Precinct project, funded by the NSW Government and Kiama Council.
This major project has so far provided:
- Kevin Walsh Oval - refurbishment of the amenities, new fencing, seating and better drainage.
- Jamberoo Croquet Club - improved drainage
- Jamberoo Youth Hall – renovations and drainage improvements
- Keith Irvine – new sports field lighting
Construction of the amenities block at Keith Irvine is being done by Deane Construction Pty Ltd.
Construction of the amenities has been delayed due to supply difficulties caused by COVID-19.
We expect the building to be complete in August.
