Kevin Scarce appointed Chair of Adelaide Oval SMA

Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC has been appointed as Chair of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority Ltd for the next three years at today’s Board meeting.

Mr Scarce, who was Governor of South Australia from 2007 to 2014, succeeds John Olsen AO who has been Chair since 2014 and who will now serve as Deputy Chair.
Mr Olsen’s term as Chair has come to an end as the governance structure between SACA and SANFL provides for nominations for the positions of Chair and Deputy to alternate between terms.
"John has done a simply outstanding job in guiding the organisation over the past four years," said Mr Scarce.
"It would be difficult to overstate the impact he has had on the continued growth of the Adelaide Oval SMA, both as a business and in terms of Adelaide Oval’s enviable national and international standing.
"I am honoured to have the opportunity to build upon that successful platform and continue to deliver a world-class product for the people of South Australia."
Mr Scarce also paid tribute to inaugural chair Ian McLachlan AO, who officially retired as a director at today’s Board meeting.
"It is well known that the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval simply would not have happened without Ian," said Mr Scarce.
"He played an absolutely pivotal role, not only in realising the vision of a reborn Adelaide Oval but also in unifying football and cricket in a unique operating model.
"His name will be forever linked with Adelaide Oval and with its outstanding success."
SACA director Rod Phillips has taken Mr McLachlan’s place on the Adelaide Oval SMA Board. ---
