Kiama Municipal Council has opened Round 2 of its Community Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Program, offering $85,000 annually to support local initiatives that strengthen the economic, environmental, social and cultural wellbeing of the community.

Applications open on 16 February and close on 13 March 2026.

Council's updated Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy, adopted in late 2025, streamlines the program to improve efficiency, transparency and accessibility while ensuring responsible and sustainable funding allocation.

This round includes three funding streams:

Sponsorship - Community Events

Up to $10,000 for not-for-profit organisations delivering large-scale, community-led events that provide significant local benefits.

Examples: music festivals, cultural expos, major art exhibitions.

Community Grants

Up to $7,000 for not-for-profit organisations, artists and P&C groups supporting social connection, cultural vibrancy, health and wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.

Examples: community gardens, sporting events, cultural programs, health initiatives.

Donations (Small Grants)

Up to $1,000 for grassroots community activities. Open all year.

Examples: local competitions, exhibitions, healthy lifestyle programs and small events.

Mayor Cameron McDonald said Council is proud to continue investing in the community through the grants program.

"We're incredibly pleased to offer these community grants, which allow us to directly invest in the people and groups who make Kiama such a vibrant and connected place to live. These programs help bring local ideas to life and strengthen our community across social, cultural and environmental areas."

Council encourages prospective applicants to attend an online information session on 25 February from 12.30pm - 1.30pm and to contact the Community Development team to discuss project ideas before applying. To register, visit: https://www.trybooking.com/DJOYA
