A Kilkenny player is leaping into the new season with a whopping $1.5 million windfall after winning the Keno Spot 10 jackpot. The prize of $1,591,419.80 was won in draw 230901 614, which took place on September 1, 2023.
The winning ticket was purchased at Lotteries Kiosk Arndale, an outlet with a reputation for being one of the "luckiest" Kiosks in South Australia. While the winner has opted for anonymity, choosing to celebrate in private, their newfound fortune has sparked excitement and buzz among other customers.
“We were both elated and shocked when we realized the Spot 10 had been won at our outlet!" said Tia Pham, owner of Lotteries Kiosk Arndale.
"We had to take a minute to absorb what had just happened! We hope to keep the winning streak alive for many years to come.”
Customers around the kiosk at the time of the win began frantically checking their tickets, though it was later confirmed that the winner was not in the store.
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell shared her excitement for the winner,
"This mystery Keno Spot 10 winner would've received their $1.5 million boost this morning after waiting for the two-week provisional period to pass—what a wonderful way to start the new week!”
Although the winner's plans for their windfall will remain a mystery, their life has undoubtedly been changed forever.
“Other winners often share stories of using their division one winnings to support loved ones, pay off their mortgages, upgrade their homes and cars, or even indulge in a luxurious holiday," Hobdell added.

In the fiscal year 2023, more than 5.8 million Keno wins occurred across South Australia, worth more than $101.88 million. This includes 45 Keno Spot 8, 9, and 10 winners who collectively won more than $8.11 million. The biggest prize was a $2.3 million win from a ticket purchased at Lonsdale Hotel.
