Kilmore Family and Children's Centre expansion

The future is looking bright for young families in Kilmore, thanks to the Kilmore Family and Children's Centre Expansion.

The project has seen the existing Marie Williams Kindergarten and Kilmore Maternal and Child Health Centre combined into one centre.

"This project has joined the two buildings by creatively utilising the small parcels of land around and between both sites," said Bec Glynn, Children's Services Coordinator for Mitchell Shire Council.

"We have added two new early learning rooms, an additional play space and shared entrances for families and staff," added Bec.

The centre now features four sessional kindergarten rooms with two associated play spaces, connected Maternal and Child Health consultation suites, program rooms and parent meeting spaces, and a staff lounge and office.

The $3.36 million upgrade was supported by $1.86 million from the Victorian Government's Building Blocks Grants, $1.1 million from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund and more than $394,000 from Mitchell Shire Council.
