America was honored to provide a safe haven for the young Prince Harald and his family during the Second World War, and his subsequent royal visits across the United States strengthened the ties between our nations throughout his reign. King Harald's personal commitment to celebrating the proud heritage of Norwegian-Americans and kinship between the people of the United States and Norway will forever serve as part of his enduring legacy.
