River Red Gum located in Knightsbridge Reserve (Rochester Street Leabrook), has experienced a large branch failure. The fallen branch has impacted the play equipment, causing relatively minor damage to the equipment and the adjacent private property.
The recent weather conditions have placed substantial stress on our larger trees, and it is likely that this contributed to the branch failure.
Our arborists will undertake an inspection shortly to determine whether any additional works are required to mitigate risk. I will provide updates as more information becomes available.
The fallen branch has been removed however the playground will remain closed until further assessments of the surrounding trees, and the structural condition of the play equipment have been completed.
