A man was arrested in the early hours of this morning after police uncovered two knives during a traffic stop at Whyalla Norrie.
At about 12.40am on Monday 13 April, Whyalla patrols stopped a Ford hatchback on Choat Street and when police spoke with the driver, it will be alleged that the man appeared substance affected. Checks on the man's licence revealed he was disqualified from driving.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle, where they allegedly located two double‑edged knives.
The 34‑year‑old local man was arrested and charged with driving while not authorised, driving under the influence, and possessing prohibited weapons. He was granted bail to appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on 1 June.
The hatchback was impounded for 28 days.
