Labor has suspended a series of community forums in line with best practice in social distancing to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The first of the forums focusing on barriers to work and getting more Tasmanians into work was held in Burnie last week and a further 16 events were scheduled.
Labor Leader Rebecca White said the decision not to proceed is in line with advice from public health officials that non-essential events should not take place as one measure to slow the spread of coronavirus.
"At a time when the community is being asked to observe social distancing measures it is responsible that we suspend these events.
"As the coronavirus situation unfolds, we need additional measures to provide the greatest possible protection for community members.
"While this is disappointing, it is a postponement not a cancellation and we will reschedule these events when public health experts advise that it's safe to do so."
Ms White said getting more Tasmanians into secure work remains a priority for Labor.
