Labor will improve playing field

  • A majority Labor Government will upgrade sporting facilities across Tasmania to improve the playing field for women.

    Shadow Minister for Sport David O'Byrne said Labor had a plan to invest in a number of different projects across Tasmania.

    "A Labor Government will match the Liberals commitment of $10 million to improve women's sporting facilities state-wide as part of the Improving the Playing Field grants," Mr O'Byrne said.

    "This funding will ensure women across Tasmania are able to access the facilities they need to participate in sport.

    "All Tasmanians deserve accessible and welcoming sports facilities and this funding will help upgrade facilities across the state to ensure both men and women have equal opportunity to participate.

    "Labor is working for Tasmanians to deliver healthy, active and better-connected communities."
