Land and Environment Court grants injunction

Armidale Regional Council sought and was granted an interim injunction in the Land and Environment Court yesterday. This injunction was sought to protect Council from liability created by any (potentially) unlawful decision with respect to the removal of the CEO.

The injunction remains until the matter is heard before the Land and Environment Court on Tuesday 9 June. Council operations will continue unchanged. No councillors are restrained from conducting the ordinary business of Council. They are able to vote and conduct normal Council business, other than determining the CEO's employment, until the matter is decided by the Land and Environment Court.

It is important to note that the Court has made no finding at this stage.
