Landlords encouraged to use property clean out service

Local real estate agents managing flood-affected rental homes are encouraged to contact either the State Emergency Service or Townsville City Council to organise assistance to clean our properties.

Townsville Local Recovery and Resilience Group Chair Deputy Mayor Les Walker said agencies such as Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Team Rubicon Australia are on stand-by to assist property managers to remove mud and debris.

"This free wash out service will help return these rental properties to a liveable condition and add extra stock on to the rental market," Cr Walker said.

"A huge amount of homes were damaged in this unprecedented flood and families are searching for accommodation while repairs are completed.

"It's important that we get as many properties on to the rental market as possible to make it easier for any locals looking for a new home after the flood."

Please contact the SES on 132 500 or Townsville City Council on 13 48 10.
