The National Rural Health Alliance has announced the last call for abstracts to be submitted to the 15th National Rural Health Conference to be held in Hobart in March next year.
"We have decided to extend the period to Friday, 31 August 2018 to allow sufficient time for as many contributions as possible to be received", Alliance CEO, Mark Diamond, said.
The National Rural Health Conference is the largest conference specifically focusing on rural health in Australia.
"We expect more than 1,100 delegates to attend the conference – it is a fantastic forum for sharing ideas and promoting the latest service initiatives that are contributing to improving health outcomes for the 7 million people that live in rural, regional, and remote Australia," Mr Diamond said.
‘Submitting an abstract is the entree to sharing the best practice examples and evidence that we need to improve health outcomes for people in country areas," Mr Diamond said.
The Conference Committee welcomes abstracts from consumers, researchers, students, policy makers, health service managers and others involved with health in rural areas. People who live in major centres and work on rural and remote health issues, including in sectors such as education, housing and transport, are also encouraged to take advantage of this extended period to submit an abstract.
"There are so many examples of good service and research initiatives – the Conference will provide the opportunity for us to share and learn from the experience of others," Mr Diamond said.
Selected abstracts will result in a spot for their author on the Conference program.
