Latest Scoop On Ice Cream Cone Theft

Melbourne East Police have arrested a man after two large plastic ice cream cones were allegedly stolen from a general store in East Melbourne last week.

It is alleged the 1970s cones were stolen from the front of the store about 2am on Hotham Street on Sundae, 25 May.

Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Templestowe Lower last night.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and interviewed in relation to the theft.

He was released and is expected to be charged on summons.

The cones, which have been on the shop front for around 50 years, had allegedly been sold online.

They were located at a Gisborne address this morning and will be returned to the store.
