Be inspired to live more sustainably at Logan City Council's Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF) on Sunday, June 7.

This year's event celebrates the theme Wings along our Waterways through engaging talks, hands-on workshops and activities, market stalls and a creative kids' zone.

Mayor Jon Raven said he hoped the whole community would come to LEAF.

"If you care about the environment, this will be a great low-cost day out for the whole family," Mayor Raven said.

The annual event, which is one of South East Queensland's largest environment and sustainability festivals, brings together experts and conservationists for a day of interactive activities designed to inspire and educate.

This year's program includes:

  • Jamie Durie OAM, award-winning international designer, author and TV presenter
  • Dr Ann Jones, host of ABC's What the Duck podcast
  • Spencer Hitchen, a young conservationist dedicated to protecting the Glossy Black-Cockatoo
  • Annette Bird, long-time local conservation advocate
  • Andrew Dinwoodie from the Logan‑based Powerful Owl Project
  • Wildlife Unleashed, live bird shows and reptile encounters throughout the day
  • Bee All Natural, a Flagstone company showcasing sustainable, nature friendly products and hosting a native bee presentation.

Eco‑friendly market stalls and delicious food vendors will also feature at the free event, which runs from 9am to 3pm on Sunday, June 7 at Griffith University's Logan campus at Meadowbrook.

Pre-loved clothing and items will have the chance to become new-found treasures at the popular Logan Wardrobe Rummage which creates awareness about fast fashion and sustainability.

The rummage stalls will sell clothing, fashion accessories, home bric‑a‑brac, books, comics, magazines and small potted plants.
