Learner Driver Nosedives Down Embankment At Athelstone

A learner driver on his first drive crashed into the front of a house in Athelstone last night.

Emergency services were called to King George Avenue, Athelstone about 7.40pm on Monday 20 July following reports of a crash.

A car had driven over the side of a driveway, plunged down a four-metre embankment and came to rest against the bay window of a home.

Fortunately, the 27-year-old driver and his supervising driver, a 58-year-old man, were not injured.

The Honda sedan sustained significant front-end damage, while the house appears to have suffered only minor damage.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
