Learner driver pushing his luck

A learner driver has been caught travelling almost 70km/h above the speed limit in Dingley Village this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

The 19-year-old Dandenong man was intercepted travelling west on the Dingley Bypass about 5pm.

Moorabbin Highway Patrol members clocked the driver at 147km/h in an 80km/h zone.

An unlicensed 23-year-old female was also in the car.

His Ford sedan has been impounded and he is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous, exceed speed limit and unaccompanied learner.
