MidCoast Council
Residents are being encouraged to provide feedback on MidCoast Council's draft Community Land Plan of Management.
The strategy provides long term direction for managing community land and will close to public exhibition on 19 March 2026.
The draft plan categorises land as park, sportsground, general community use and natural area and allows Council to licence and hire the land and any facilities and buildings on the land. It also specifies where Council can develop and build on community land.
The plan has already been put on public exhibition during June and July of 2024 and the feedback received from the community drove several changes.
The plan and those changes are available for viewing and comment on Council's website.
Some of the changes to the document are listed below;
  • Reducing the number of site-specific plans of management to be developed as the plan provides coverage to these areas,
  • Aligning the draft plan of management with the draft Local Environment Plan for the MidCoast region to ensure that both the current zones and future zones are included,
  • Additional Council owned lands have been added,
  • Tables added for Harrington Beach Skate Park and Manning Entrance State Park at the request of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and
  • Clarification of Crown Land manager appointment at the Manning Waterfront at Taree, as requested by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
