The City of Burnside is upgrading public street lighting with Light Emitting Diodes (LED) technology to improve efficiency and lower energy consumption.
To reduce our carbon footprint the City of Burnside is upgrading over 4,000 street lights to energy efficient LED (light emitting diode) - saving 10,696 tonnes of greenhouse emissions and saving our ratepayers an estimated $9.4 million over the life of these assets.
Work is completed in the Eastwood & Glenunga Ward, and nearing completion in Linden Park, and parts of Hazelwood Park and Burnside.
