Less is More: Free 'Together We Grow' Movie Night

What does it take to build resilience into a local community?

Cessnock City Council is inviting members of the community to attend a free screening of the award-winning documentary, Together We Grow, at Performing Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC) on Thursday 22 June.

'Together We Grow' is a documentary that tells the inspiring story of a thriving hub helping to build resilience into its local community by growing, sewing, repairing, sharing – you name it, Common Unity is doing it!

The screening is part of Council's Less is More campaign, which seeks to change our relationship with products and encourage us all to reuse, repair, rent, borrow and share rather than always buying new.

Cessnock Council's Sustainability Officer, Karinda Stone, is encouraging the community to come along and take part in these important discussions and local opportunities.

"Together We Grow is an inspiring and thought-provoking documentary that everyone can learn from," Ms Stone said.

"If you're passionate about the future and keen learn more about how we can create strong, connected, resilient communities so we are better able to withstand the challenges of the future, I strongly encourage you to come along."

Finger food will be served from 5pm, with the documentary screening to begin at 5:45pm and run for approximately 40 minutes. Stay for a Q+A discussion directly following the screening.

This project is a NSW Environment Protection Authority Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded by the Waste Levy.
