Life-member of Rebels OMCG charged with murder, NSW

A life-member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been charged over the alleged murder of Clint Starkey on the Central Coast last year, NSW Police say.

Just after midnight on Thursday 6 April 2017, Clint Starkey, aged 42, presented at Gosford Hospital with serious head injuries.

He was later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he remained in a critical condition until he passed away on Monday 12 June 2017.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, assisted by Brisbane Water Police District, established Strike Force Bartondale to investigate the assault and circumstances surrounding Mr Starkey’s death.

Their inquiries revealed he was assaulted at a service station at Peats Ridge, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Six men have been charged by Strike Force Bartondale detectives. They remain before the courts.

Following further investigations, a 50-year-old man was arrested with the assistance of Strike Force Raptor at a home at Narara just after 6am today (Wednesday 25 July 2018).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with murder.

The man, who is a life-member of the Rebels OMCG, was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court later today.
