If you fondly remember a time when the family would gather around the sofa or dining table and tune into the wireless for the latest news or entertainment, Bankfoot House and Anywhere Festival have an incredible opportunity to relive those days.
For two shows only on Saturday, May 11, The Drama Merchant and his radio team will bring Louisa May Alcott's universally beloved novel and coming of age story, Little Women, to the picturesque property of Bankfoot House in the Glass House Mountains.
The Radioplay Hour is a retro audio adventure that transports audiences back to a time when radio was at the heart of family life.
Think of it as an audio book performed live before your very ears.
Arts and Heritage Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said this enchanting event would transport audiences back to a bygone era, either in a real-life setting or behind the scenes.
"We're bringing Bankfoot House back to life in this intimate setting where a small audience of 8-10 people will have the opportunity to sit around the dining table and experience what it was like to listen to a radio play," Cr Baberowski said.
"Alternatively, if you would like to see the radio play come to life, you can choose to sit in front of the cast in the Mary Grigor Centre, as part of the "studio audience", and witness the director, performers and sound effects team in action."

Anywhere Festival returns May 9-26, 2019 with more than 400 performances in the nooks and crannies of Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

Bankfoot House is a state heritage listed property and the oldest surviving residence in the Glass House Mountains.
