Local Government Week online

This week is Local Government Week in NSW, and it's the perfect opportunity to celebrate our unique and vibrant community.

This year's theme is 'Locally Led'. During this week we will be sharing on our Facebook page facebook.com/hawkesburycitycouncil a number of videos and informative facts about our Council and how we are here to support you. Council takes care of so much more than just roads, rates and rubbish, so we'll also be highlighting Council's work with water quality control, greening our suburbs, our libraries, emergency preparedness and more.

Council's Facebook page also includes activities you can do while staying at home with regular fun posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so Like us and get the latest updates! Just go to facebook.com/hawkesburycitycouncil to see these ideas:

  • Get Moving Monday – this is the chance to do some exercise at home. Keep moving with some simple exercises from the PCYC and YMCA.
  • Hump Day Happenings – every Wednesday. Council recently asked creative Hawkesbury kids to take part in our online Waste 2 Art completion and make recycled art at home, post it online and have it judged. All entries are due in by Friday, 6 August.
  • Friday Fun Day – things you can do to keep busy and connected on Fridays; it could be a movie, baking, a zoom trivia night or a classic board game!

Council's annual event Hawkesbury Fest has been cancelled due to the current lockdown. Other events and meetings are still being held online where possible, including Council Meetings and Committee Meetings. It is hoped that the Council's Town Meetings will still be able to occur later in the year.
