Townsville’s own Jade Holland will be joined by the city’s most impressive performers to raise much-needed funds for this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal (MCTA).
The MCTA All Stars Concert will feature 30 incredible acts set to dazzle audiences, with funds raised going to help Townsville’s less fortunate residents this Christmas.
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said it was great to see Townsville talent get behind a worthy cause.
“This is the first concert of its kind to raise funds for the MCTA and will include singers, dancers and comedians who have all generously donated their time,” Cr Hill said.
“Christmas time is all about connecting with family and our community. There’s no simpler way to support this year’s Appeal than by getting your friends, family and colleagues together and unwind after tough year by enjoying this concert featuring Townsville’s best.
Money raised from this event will all go directly to purchasing hampers and meals for Townsville locals who are doing it tough this holiday season, and hopefully give them a bit of Christmas cheer.”
Cr Hill said there were plenty of other ways locals could also lend their support to the MCTA this year.
“If you can’t make it to the All Stars Concert, there are places to make donations across the city and on the Council website, and there are also volunteering opportunities to help out with the Appeal,” she said.
“I encourage people to also remember to check in with family, neighbours and friends as Christmas draws closer. Even if it’s just through small gestures, we can all play a part in supporting our community.”
The All Stars Concert is being held on 26 November and will be hosted by Sally Jupp and Kevin Wright, and includes the talents of Deborah O’Toole, Happy Feat, Judy Higgins-Olsen, Rachel Cairns and many more.
Tickets for the concert are available online from Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal – All Stars Concert.
