Logan City Council will close several facilities and restrict some services during the Queensland Government-imposed three-day lockdown, which starts at 6pm today (Tuesday, June 29).
This lockdown is for the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Townsville and Palm Island.
Council's top priority is the health and safety of our community, customers and staff. We are committed to supporting Queensland Health as the lead agency responsible for responding to the pandemic.
From 6pm on Tuesday, June 29 until 6pm on Friday, July 2, residents of the local government areas listed above can only leave home for essential reasons.
These include:
• buying essentials such as groceries or medications
• healthcare (including getting a vaccine), or to provide help, care or support.
• attending work or study if you cannot do either from home
• exercise in your local area
Carry a mask whenever you leave home. You must wear a face mask at all times when you are outside your home, unless:
• you are alone in your car or with the members of your household
• you are eating or drinking
• you are at your usual workplace and can physically distance from others (except if you work in a hospitality venue or are a passenger transport operator)
• you are alone outdoors or with members of your household
• you are exercising
• you have a medical reason
• it is unsafe.
Children under 12 and people with particular media conditions or disabilities do not need wear a mask. If in doubt, wear a face mask.

In accordance with the above advice, the following Council facilities and services will
be impacted:
Customer service centres
Council's customer service centres at Beenleigh and Jimboomba will be closed
throughout the lockdown.
The customer service centre at Logan Central will remain open for essential business
only.
Anyone attending the centre will be required to wear a mask as per the Queensland
Government directive.
Council's telephone contact centre will remain open and can be reached on 3412
3412.
Many Council services are available on the Logan City Council website, including:
• Report it - order wheelie bins, report a barking dog, parking issues or parks
maintenance.
• Apply for it - apply for a water meter, building approval or residential driveway.
• Pay it - pay your rates, development applications, licences, fines.
Animal Management Centre
The Animal Management Centre, at 213 Queens Road, Kingston will be open during
the lockdown for the provision of essential services only.
Residents can attend the centre to drop-off an animal they have found or claim an
impounded animal.
Opening hours for essential services only are:
• Wednesday, June 30 to Friday, July 2: 8.30am to 4.30pm
Visitors to the Animal Management Centre are required to:
• Wear a face mask
• Check in using the QLD Health Check In app.
Non-essential services (such as supply of cat traps, animal sales and over-thecounter
registrations) will not be available until 9am on Saturday, July 3.
Council will respond to emergency situations such aggressive dogs and wandering
livestock.
Animals will not be collected from residential properties unless an imminent risk is
present (Vet clinics with COVID-Safe handling plans excluded).
Animals impounded will be displayed on Council's website at Impounded animals -
Logan City Council.
If your pet has gone missing:
• Check the website, and if they are identified, call 3412 5397 to confirm details
• Council will make contact as soon as possible with the owners of any animals
with registration tags or microchips to arrange identification and reunification
Libraries, Logan Art Gallery and Mayes Cottage
All Logan City Council Libraries and Logan Art Gallery will be closed from 5pm on
Tuesday, June 29 until 9am on Saturday, July 3.
Visit the Library website (www.loganlibraries.org) to borrow e-books, e-audiobooks,
e-magazines or to renew items.
Any overdue items can be returned when the libraries re-open.

Mayes Cottage is closed until 10am on Saturday, July 3.
Immunisation clinics
Council's immunisation clinics will be closed during the lockdown. Additionally, the
following clinic will be closed next week:
