Queensland Road Safety Week will run from Monday 18 to Friday 22 August.
This year, Queensland Police Service (QPS) has enlisted the help of seven schools within the Logan District to remind drivers to slow down, take a break, and practice safe behaviours on Queensland roads.
District Crime Prevention Coordinators (DCPCs) in Logan District have been busy engaging with local schools, to write road safety messages on coffee collars, kindly donated by The Coffee Club, Slacks Creek.
Students from years three to six were asked to write personal messages on the coffee collars urging road users to stay safe on the roads and protect vulnerable road users.
During Queensland Road Safety Week, coffees bought from The Coffee Club at Slacks Creek will feature one of these coffee collars.

Logan DCPC, Senior Constable Lou Carey, said whilst officers may have helped with some of the spelling and ideas, many of the children wanted to write their very own message, special from them to you.
"Engaging with kids through road safety education isn't just about teaching the rules of the road - it's about building trust, breaking down barriers, and showing young people that we're here for them," Senior Constable Carey said.
"For some of these kids, it was the first time they'd ever met a police officer, and that first impression matters."
QPS would like to thank the schools that took part in this initiative. These kinds of positive, first-time interactions lay the groundwork for stronger connections and lasting trust within the broader community.
Logan DCPCs are hopeful that each message resonates with road users, and reminds them of their commitment to drive smart, stay safe and practice safe road behaviours.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility - but it starts with you.
The Queensland Police Service is committed to reducing the number of lives lost on our roads.
Data shows that serious crashes can be significantly reduced when drivers recognise and avoid the 'Fatal Five' behaviours: speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, fatigue and distraction.
