Logan City Council will receive $6.57 million from the State Government's $200 million COVID Works for Queensland program.
Mayor Darren Power said he welcomed any funding available to help the City of Logan's long-term economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Infrastructure and jobs are critical for the community and our city in these challenging times," he said.
"While some mayors in the south-east of the state have complained about an uneven share of the funds, I recognise that all Queenslanders are in this together and this is $6.57 million of funding we didn't have yesterday.
"We've seen the success in upgrading and building community and local infrastructure that Works for Queensland has brought in regional Queensland. I'm excited those benefits will come to Logan."
Cr Power said Council had already delivered a financial relief package to support businesses and residents and is considering other measures in the upcoming 2020/21 Budget.
"Next week we will consider a report on how to best use this funding to deliver critical community infrastructure in the city that meets the needs of our residents and businesses," he said.
"We want to come out of this pandemic stronger than ever, and the best way to do that is to work together."
