The pedestrian a 85-year-old woman from Grange was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of a green Mitsubishi Pajero is assisting police with the investigation, according to SA Police.
The Esplanade was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.
