As Victoria gears up for the biggest game on the sporting calendar – a Frankston manufacturer is continuing its longstanding relationship with the AFL by making all the silverware and player awards for the AFL Grand Final.
Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll today visited Cash’s Awards and Promotions to see firsthand how the AFL Premiership Cup is made.
Cash’s employs 38 workers designing, manufacturing and engraving trophies, medals and medallions, including production of one million ANZAC pins every year and badges for the Australian Defence Force and Victoria Police.
The Brownlow Medal, the Norm Smith Medal and the Jock McHale Medal are all made at Cash’s Frankston factory.
The company is another example of high-quality Victorian manufacturers designing and making products locally and creating local jobs.
The visit follows the launch of the Made in Victoria campaign, which showcases Victorian manufacturing innovation, expertise and capability – featuring companies like Maton Guitars, Sussex Taps and Cobram Estate.
Victorian manufacturing has seen sustained growth backed by more than $130 million in support from the Andrews Labor Government, creating over 6,000 jobs and driving more than $1.6 billion in private investment.
Victoria’s manufacturing industry contributes $27.7 billion to the Victorian economy, with over 13,000 businesses employing more than 283,000 people.
