Males arrested, police officers injured during pursuit, NSW

Two males have been arrested and two police officers have been injured following a pursuit with a stolen car at Gregory’s Hill in Sydney’s south west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 2.15am tomorrow, police were patrolling Gregory Hills Drive when they noticed a stolen Holden utility.

Police attempted to pull the car over; however, it accelerated away from police and a short pursuit commenced.

Police will allege that the utility continued east and the driver commenced a left turn into Village Circuit.

The vehicle then suddenly veered to the right attempting a U-turn and collided with the police vehicle.

The ute accelerated away and struck a traffic control light at the intersection.

Police arrested two males from the stolen car.

A 17-year-old juvenile has been taken to Narellan Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man has been taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. He was also treated for a hand injury.

A female police officer injured her head in the collision and was treated at the scene before she was conveyed to Campbelltown Hospital for observation for a head injury.

The male police officer was also conveyed to hospital for observation.

Investigations are continuing.
