Males charged over robbery with violence – Parkwood

A man has been charged over the robbery of a service station and the assault of an employee at Parkwood overnight, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged around 9pm a group of males entered the Olsen Avenue premises and with two males stealing a number of food items.

The 23-year-old male attendant followed the group outside the premises and confronted the two males who had allegedly stolen items.

It is alleged the store attendant was assaulted and the males fled the scene.

A short time later police located the alleged offenders near a hospital and took them into custody.

The store attendant received treatment at the Gold Coast University Hospital for facial injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Surfers Paradise has been charged with robbery with violence and enter premises with intent. He will face the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 16-year-old boy from Coombabah is also facing charges of robbery with violence and enter premises with intent will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
