Man and woman arrested following pursuit, SA

A man and a woman have been arrested following a pursuit in Pooraka early this morning, according to SA Police.

Just before 1am, Sunday 30 October, a Holden Hill patrol spotted a silver Ford sedan travelling north on Bridge Road which had no number plates. The patrol attempted to stop the car but it took off at speed away from them.

Luckily a police patrol from Elizabeth was further up Bridge Road and was able to quickly deploy road spikes which the Ford subsequently ran over.

Due to the successful spiking, the car ground to a halt and patrols arrested the male driver and female passenger. Police will allege they also found a knife and a baseball bat in the car which have been seized.

A 19-year-old Victorian man, was charged with engaging in police pursuit, driving unlicensed, no number plates, resist police, possess knife in a public place and carry offensive weapon.

A 19-year-old Victorian woman has been charged with carry offensive weapon.

The man and woman were both refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
