Man and woman charged over aggravated break-in in Bondi

Police have charged a man and a woman over an aggravated break and enter in Bondi, NSW Police say.

About 10.30am today an aggravated break and enter occurred at Stephens Street, Bondi where the occupants were home asleep.

About 11.45am today whilst a 57-year-old man was working in an office of his home, he heard a noise. The man went to investigate and was confronted by an unknown woman in his lounge room.

The woman allegedly stole a laptop computer, before fleeing the scene in a Toyota RAV 4.

About 1pm today officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command were patrolling Bunnerong Road, Matraville and located a Toyota RAV 4.

Police spoke to the driver, a 49-year-old man. A 39-year-old woman returned to the vehicle and was also spoken to.

Shortly after, police arrested the man and woman.

They were taken to Maroubra Police Station where they were charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent - knowing people there x 2, possess prohibited drug and dishonestly obtain financial advantage.

The 49-year-old man was also charged with breach of bail (detention application – arrest)

The man and woman were refused bail to appear at Waverly Local Court today, Thursday 23 February 2017.
