Man and woman charged with drug offences in Ballina

A man and woman have been charged with drug offences after ongoing investigations, NSW Police say.

Following ongoing investigations into drug supply in Lismore and surrounding areas, about 9am yesterday, police from Richmond Local Area Command attended an airport in Ballina and spoke to a 38-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman.

Police searched the man and woman, and their luggage, where they located, and seized, a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine.

The man and woman were arrested and taken to Ballina Police Station.

After further investigations, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Martins Road, Larnook.

At the home officers located, and seized:

- Three unregistered firearms,

- Ammunition,

- A stolen Holden Commodore Utility,

- Substances thought to be drugs and,

- Cash.

The man has been charged with possess prohibited drug and supply commercial quantity of prohibited drug.

The woman has been charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug and supply commercial quantity of prohibited drug.

They will both appear before Lismore Local Court today

Investigations are continuing.
