Man and woman charged with two counts of arson, SA

A man and woman were both arrested after allegedly setting fire to two cars this morning, at Dover Gardens and Warradale, according to SA Police.

At 9am on Sunday 4 September, police and fire crews responded to reports of a car on fire in the car park of a block of units in Quintus Terrace, Dover Gardens.

About 15 minutes later, another car fire was reported in Ailsa Avenue, Warradale. This time, a white Kia sedan had been set alight.

In both incidents, the cars were severely damaged and no injuries were reported.

Following investigations by Sturt patrols and CIB detectives, the two suspects were located a short time later.

A 47-year-old Sheidow Park woman and a 37-year-old man of no fixed address were both arrested and charged with two counts of arson. They were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

Investigators wish to reassure the public that the people involved in these incidents are known to each other and they were not random attacks.
