Man arrested after aggravated break and enter in Woodcroft

Police have arrested a man after responding to an aggravated break and enter in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 5.30am today, police were called to Jindabyne Crescent, Woodcroft, after a couple in their 60s reported an aggravated robbery.

The couple told police they were in a bedroom when a man armed with a hammer allegedly threatened them before stealing a mobile phone, a small amount of cash and other items.

Police from Blacktown Local Area Command immediately established a crime scene and conducted a search of the area with assistance from the Police Dog Unit.

A 29-year-old man was located in the front yard of a nearby property and police seized a hammer and other items.

The man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break, enter and commit indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
