Man arrested after assaulting woman in Mosman

A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman leaving her with facial fractures in hospital overnight, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 11pm today, a 29-year-old woman and her 26-year-old partner left their Mosman residence to walk their two dogs.

As they started walking along Glover Street they noticed a man on the opposite side of the street who was calling out to them.

The two women stopped and the man crossed the street and approached them, allegedly yelling abuse.

The man allegedly pushed the 29-year-old woman a number of times before head-butting her, causing her to fall to the ground.

He crossed the street and started walking away from the pair before the 29-year-old woman got to her feet and walked after him.

It’s alleged a second confrontation occurred; the man allegedly punched the woman a number of times to her face.

Emergency services were called and the woman was taken to hospital suffering multiple fractures to her eye socket.

The 34-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to North Sydney Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.
