Man arrested after attempt robbery Glengowrie, SA

A man has been arrested and police are searching for a second following an attempt robbery at Glengowrie this morning, according to SA Police.

Police were called to an Oaklands Road service station about 5.45am on Wednesday 6 September after a man entered the store armed with a hammer and jumped the counter.

The man was grabbed by a member of the public as he tried to run out of the store empty handed and held him until patrols arrived. A second man was seen waiting outside the service station who ran off soon after the man was apprehended.

Patrols cordoned off the area and are currently searching for the second suspect, with the assistance of Dog Operations officers and PD Ink, who was last seen running east on Oaklands Road.

The second suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 177cm tall with a slim to medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, light cream pants and black Adidas shoes with white stripes.

The arrested man is expected to be charged later this morning.
