Man arrested after break-in at Ovingham, SA

A man has been arrested and another suspect remains outstanding after a break-in at Ovingham overnight, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that about 11.50pm, patrols were called to a house in Park Terrace after reports that two men armed with crowbars forced their way into the premises and stole a woman’s car keys and wallet.

The victim was not injured.

A Nissan Skyline was stolen from the address, but patrols were quickly on scene and stopped the car on Torrens Road, arresting one man as he tried to run away.

The second suspect ran away from the scene. He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, short, solid build, and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper and shorts, along with gloves and running shoes.

Police are following positive lines of enquiry regarding his identity and whereabouts.

A 36-year-old man of Paralowie was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, aggravated robbery, illegal use of a motor vehicle, and two counts of aggravated assault police after he bit and kicked two officers.

They sustained minor injuries.

The arrested man was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
