Man arrested after hotel break-in at Edwardstown, SA

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a southern suburbs hotel and stole money from the premises, according to SA Police.

It is alleged that about 3am, patrols were called to the hotel on South Road, Edwardstown after an alarm was activated. Police found that access had been gained to the gaming area and coins stolen from several machines.

CCTV footage was examined, and police found a man matching the description of the suspect nearby. A further search of the man’s house uncovered a large amount of $1 coins and clothing worn at the time of the break-in.

A 38-year-old Clarence Park man was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft, property damage and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
