Man Arrested After Nana Glen Shooting

Police have arrested a man over an alleged shooting in the state's north yesterday.

About 8.30pm yesterday (Saturday 9 August 2025), emergency services were called to a home on Orara Way, Nana Glen, approximately 27km north of Coffs Harbour, following reports of an alleged shooting.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District were told a 22-year-old man had an argument with another man before he was shot.

Initial inquiries alleged they were known to each other, and the other man left the scene before police arrived.

The 22-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Following inquiries, about 9pm on the same day, officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a SUV on Carroll Street, Coffs Harbour, where they arrested the driver - a 20-year-old man.

Police searched the vehicle and seized a rifle for a forensic examination.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station for further inquiries and breath analysis.

A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District established Strike Force Canova to commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
