Man arrested after North Adelaide robbery, SA

A man has been arrested after an investigation into a robbery that occurred in North Adelaide a week ago, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that at about 9pm on Monday 19 December, police were called to Childers Street after a man grabbed several handbags from patrons at a café, injuring an elderly woman whose bag he had stolen. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Members of the public followed the man and saw him drive away in a stolen car, and witnesses later passed the car’s details to police.

The car was stolen during an earlier break-in at a house.

At about 9pm on Saturday 24 December the man was located by police and arrested.

The 32-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with numerous offences including aggravated robbery, aggravated serious criminal trespass, illegal use of a motor vehicle and property damage.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
