Man arrested after police officer injured in Naremburn

A man has been arrested after a police officer was knocked down by a car in Naremburn overnight, NSW Police say.

Just before 11.30pm today, police from North Shore Local Area Command attended a property on Waters Road, following reports of a trespasser at the location.

On arrival, police located a man in a utility. When officers attempted to speak with the man, he drove away and in the process a male officer was knocked to the ground.

The man was arrested by other officers.

Both the police officer and the man were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries before they were both taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

The man is currently under police guard and is expected to be charged once released from hospital.

Inquiries are continuing.
